Keith Brubacher, Board Chair

Keith Brubacher and his wife, Ronda, are parents to HMS alum Savanna, and Sierra in eighth grade and Clark, fourth grade.  They are members of Bowmansville Mennonite Church. Keith is the president of Brubacher Excavating Inc.  Keith enjoys woodworking, landscaping and "bringing new life to old things."



Floyd Zook, Vice-Chairman

Floyd Zook along with his wife, Kimberly, are parents of four children.  Their oldest son, Mitchell, graduated from HMS and the other three are students at HMS- Brandon (grade 8), Mackenzie (grade 7), and Connor (grade 6). The Zook family attends Ephrata Community Church. Floyd is president and owner of Zook Interiors, LLC, a wall and ceiling construction company that he began in 1991. His passion in ministry and work is to see others grow and develop in personal life skills and leadership. Floyd enjoys training and showing horses and playing tennis in his spare time, and spending time with his family.



Daryl Eshleman, Treasurer

Daryl and Cheryl Eshleman have been patrons at HMS for 14 years and have four children:  Matthew & Emily (HMS alumni), Lauren (grade 7), and James (grade 5). Daryl and his family attend Forest Hills Mennonite Church. Daryl is a 1992 graduate of Messiah College and an accountant at Hershey Advisors, an accounting practice in Brownstown. He is a member of Spare Parts, a men's barbershop quartet. Cheryl taught music at HMS from 1992-1997. Daryl's hobbies include traveling, reading and camping. He recently completed nine years of service on the Board of Landis Homes Retirement Community.



Melissa Hurst, Secretary

Melissa Hurst and her husband, Nevin, live in East Earl with their four children. Emma and Alarie are HMS alumni, currently at Lancaster Mennonite High School, Madalyn is in seventh grade and Paul is in fifth grade. The Hursts attend Weaverland Mennonite Church. Melissa has a BS in Elementary Education from Messiah College, an MA in Education from EMU and a Reading Specialist Certification. She taught 6th grade at Kraybill Mennonite School. Melissa is a homemaker, a Youngevity Distributor and is employed part time at Garden Spot Village as an Activities Aide in the memory support unit. She brings her experience in education to the board and serves on the Advancement Committee.


Megan Ament

Megan Amend and her husband, Chris, have 2 children.  Riley is in kindergarten and Madi is in third grade at HMS. They attend Bergstrasse Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ephrata. Megan has her B.A. in Biology and Secondary Education from Lycoming College, a Master's degree in Leadership for Technology Integration from Penn State, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Immaculata University. Megan taught Biology and Environmental Science for six years at Garden Spot High School. She is currently enjoying being a stay-at-home mom. She also is a part-time group fitness instructor at Ephrata Rec. Megan brings to the board a passion for science education and using technology to enhance learning opportunities.



Jenelle Nolt

Jenelle Nolt and her husband, Gerald, have 3 children. Cameron is in fourth grade, Kyle is in second grade and Alison is in pre-k at HMS. They attend New Life Fellowship. Jenelle has served in children's ministry and more recently on the nursery committee.  n addition to these roles, as a couple Jenelle and Gerald served as youth leaders for 5 years. Jenelle enjoys being a stay-at-home mom and works PRN at Fairmount as her schedule allows.


Holly Steffy

Holly Steffy and her husband, Michael, have 4 children.  Their daughter, Taylor, is in fourth grade at HMS. Holly enjoys being a stay-at-home mom and homeschooling her younger children. Holly and her family attend Alive Church where she has served in many positions including teacher, adult Sunday School Superintendent and Junior Youth leader. Holly graduated from HMS and LMHS. She holds an associate degree in Science from Harcum College.

Earl Weaver

Terry Esbenshade 

Terry and his wife Janelle Esbenshade and his family reside in Mohnton, and are patrons of Hinkletown Mennonite School. Their son, Davin, is in seventh grade. They attend Petra Church where Terry is an drummer on the worship team. He graduated with an Associate's degree in business from Penn State and further studied finance at Millersville University. Terry is a managing partner of Esbenshade Greenhouses, Inc. where is oversees the retail and business operations. He is also president of three other business--Revitalized-Real Estate LLC, Jireh Properties LLC, and Triple H Foundation. 

Terry is currently serving on BB&T advisory board, and previously served with Susquehanna Bank, DOVE Westgate Admin board, Revelations of Freedom Ministries, Barbara Hauf Cancer Foundation, and "A Safer Tomorrow" Golf tournament. At HMS he serves on the Finance Committee of the board. 


DJ Weaver

DJ Weaver and his wife, Emily, attend Lancaster Evangelical Free Church in Lititz. They lead their Adult Bible Fellowship Sunday School Class.  DJ is an HMS alum of the class of 2003 and graduated from Messiah in 2010 with a Business Administration degree. DJ currently works at Bomberger's Store in Lititz where he is the Lawn & Garden Department manager.

He enjoys playing church softball, doing anything outside and following his favorite Philadelphia sports teams.  He brings a unique perspective to the board as a more recent alum of HMS. He serves on the Finance Committee for the board and enjoys trying to solve problems and helping give direction to move the school forward and prepare the next generation of learners.
